He then came to America and received his M.A.’s in Communication Design and Computer Graphic from the Pratt Institute in 1984 and 1995, respectively. He has exhibited at the Myungdong Int’l Art Festival in Seoul, Korea, and had a solo exhibition at the Art Expo New York in 2019. He also exhibited at the Galleria Larkina in Venice, Italy, and the Riverside Gallery.

“I have been dealing with colors since my high school years in our art class. And as a graphic designer for almost 40 years in my business, Jay Joshua Inc., I have been always working & experimenting with various colors in numerous designs for tourist market souvenirs.

This solo exhibition will be focusing on colors and simplified forms in either abstract or objective. I especially feel like we need to recharge after long painful monotonous life we have been suffering through over 1 and a half years due to pandemic. I have been trying to relay the message of encouragement in vitality, ‘Recharge Life’ using bright and bold colors.

I think colored resin is the perfect medium to express strongly those concepts visually. Most of the resin abstract works are done in multi layers, adding more 3D look in flowing patterns. Those patterns have been derived from primitive form from the images manipulated by computer graphic software. Since graphic design is my major in school and profession, many of the graphic elements & colors are implied in most of my works that I think we can get more precise condensed messages in simplified ways.”
