Group Exhibition: Recollection
July 15th – August 10th, 2025
Present Exhibition at Riverside Gallery
Riverside Gallery is proud to present a special exhibition featuring works by a group of esteemed artists who have been long-time contributors to our gallery. Highlighting the show are pieces by Kwang-hyun Kim, following his well-received retrospective last September. The exhibition will be on view through August 10, 2025, at the Riverside Gallery.
This retrospective exhibition showcases over 20 graphic design works from 1960 and more than 70 paintings-including oil, acrylic, and various other mediums-created after I retired from my studies in 2001. Additionally, the exhibition booklet features 14 essays in both Korean and English, covering various topics such as Western art history and personal observations.
The works in this exhibition are neither digitized nor mechanized, nor are they created with the convenience, accuracy, or speed of Al. They do not conform to any predefined styles, trends, or standardized approaches. Instead, these paintings were made solely through the movements of the brush and hand, with an emphasis on mindful peace, tranquility, and emotional sensitivity. My background in design influences the multidisciplinary visual and expressive qualities of these works. Although they may not be the most outstanding or beautiful pieces, they are best viewed as "traces"' of my life. I hope viewers will appreciate them in this context.
