KACAL Annual Exhibition 2026
October 16 – 26, 2026
Opening Reception: Saturday, 17, 3 - 5 PM
Riverside Gallery is pleased to host the KACAL Annual Exhibition 2026, presented by the Korean American Contemporary Arts, Ltd. (KACAL). The exhibition will be on view from October 16th to 26th, with an opening reception on Saturday, October 17th, from 3 to 5 PM.
Founded in 1999, Korean American Contemporary Arts, Ltd. (KACAL) is the largest association of mid-career Korean American artists on the East Coast, promoting Korean culture through both visual and performing arts, including traditional western painting, Korean painting, sculpture, photography and traditional Korean folk dance. The organization consists of more than 70 active members whose work has been featured in various exhibitions across the U.S.A., as well as South Korea, Japan, China, Germany and France.
Under the theme “Art Connects Us: Many Voices, One Story,” this annual exhibition brings together a diverse group of artists whose unique perspectives and creative expressions celebrate the power of art to connect people across cultures.
This exhibition presents a diverse collection of paintings, sculptures, mixed-media works, photography, and calligraphy, highlighting a wide range of artistic styles and creative expressions. Each work offers a distinct perspective through its exploration of color, form, texture, and material.
The abstract and mixed-media works emphasize rhythmic compositions, layered textures, and vibrant colors, evoking themes of nature, movement, and the passage of time. The sculptures explore human relationships, identity, and existence through expressive forms and symbolic structures. Meanwhile, the calligraphic works reflect traditional aesthetics, balancing expressive brushwork with spatial harmony.
Particularly compelling are the works that move beyond visual appeal to engage viewers on a conceptual and emotional level. Through the interplay of traditional techniques and contemporary approaches, the exhibition encourages reflection on the connections between material, memory, and human experience.
Overall, the exhibition celebrates artistic diversity while emphasizing the importance of originality, craftsmanship, and individual expression. Together, these works offer a rich visual experience that invites viewers to discover new perspectives and appreciate the evolving possibilities of contemporary art.
This exhibition is sponsored by the Korea Times, New York.
